The Council is in the process of reviewing and updating the Arts & Culture Strategy for Maidstone Borough, with the revised strategy due to be considered by Cabinet in July.
The aim of the strategy is to outline our key priorities for arts and culture in Maidstone borough over the next five years. This will help us:
Set priorities and timeframes in a clear and strategic way.
Build new partnerships that will help us reach more people.
Ensure the provision of arts and culture is more sustainable and less reliant on public funding in future.
Alongside updating the Strategy, we are working on a live ‘Action Plan’ which will guide how we deliver on the Strategy’s key objectives. We want to understand residents’ views on arts provision within the borough and any barriers they may experience in taking part in arts and cultural events and activities.
We will use the results of this survey to help us plan and deliver new events, activities and arts provision across the borough. It will also help us to address any barriers to participation that may prevent residents from taking a more active part.
