The Call for Sites is an important early stage in preparing a New Local Plan for Maidstone Borough. It provides an opportunity for landowners, developers, community organisations, members of the public and other stakeholders to submit sites that they believe may be suitable for a wide range of uses to meet the borough's future needs, including, but not limited to:

  • Housing and other residential development (including affordable, specialist housing, as well as sites for Gypsy and Traveller pitches and Travelling Showpeople plots);
  • Employment and commercial uses;
  • Retail and leisure uses;
  • Community facilities and infrastructure;
  • Green spaces including Local Green Spaces, open spaces and biodiversity net gain.

Submit a site

If you have or know of land that you would like the Council to consider for inclusion in the New Local Plan, please submit your site here.

Please note, if you have submitted sites through any previous call for sites exercises, you are now required to complete a new submission.

Submission window: 15 June 2026 to 11:59pm on 23 August 2026.

What’s next:

The submitted sites will be assessed using a consistent methodology and criteria. The site assessments will be compiled into the Strategic Land Availability Assessment as an evidential study to inform the content of the New Local Plan. The selected sites will be subject to full public consultation through future consultation stages of the New Local Plan.

Data protection privacy notice
Due to the Call for Sites form containing sensitive and personal information, these will not be published in full in accordance with GDPR. However, certain elements such as respondent name, landowner name, the name of the site and the site boundary will be available and published on the Consultation Portal and/or Council’s website.
