Maidstone Borough Council is currently preparing an ambitious Town Centre Strategy to help guide investment, regeneration, development and infrastructure provision, to support the town centre in responding to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Former Royal Mail Sorting Office – Maidstone East regeneration is expected to generate a £50m investment into the area, bringing considerable benefits to the overall vitality and viability of Maidstone town centre and the wider borough.
Summary of Proposals
Around 220 high quality homes – a range of apartments and homes for sale and rent (parking underground)
New split-level piazzas with flexible space for commercial, retail and restaurant and café space to create a destination with alfresco dining.
High quality public spaces and landscaping across the site – balconies, terraces, gardens and pocket park with new planting and better links to surrounding areas/ town centre
