Nightmare
I use the M20 twice a month to go to Essex and back. I travel up in the morning and 3 days later I travel back down after 10:00. The system is utterly ludicrous and the worst experience I had apart from the ludicrous queues was travelling back one night from the Maidstone intersection to junction 11 with a speed limit of 30 mph on the inside lane (hard shoulder) with cones spaced so close together. You could have used them as skittles. As I was driving in the dark, the effect of the cones flashing past to my right started to make me feel sick. The other lanes at this point were coned off but there was no work going on in any of them. It wasn't even a contraflow. There was not even an option for a second lane going into a contraflow. It's time this stopped because it doesn't just affect the people of Maidstone. Many people in the south of Kent use the M20 for work and visiting family. This has been going on for long enough and is completely unacceptable. The whole situation with travelling to the continent is now a complete and utter catastrophe like most other things in this country at the moment. And of course, the fact that everything moves slow slowly is further encouragement for incoming migrants to hide away in large vehicles. This country is now a hell hole and using this motorway is one more thing in my life that causes stress.
