What's it like to live in Maidstone Town Centre?

We want to better understand what it's like to live in and around Maidstone Town Centre - what residents value, what makes everyday life harder, what support is needed, and what could make it a fairer, stronger and more inclusive place.

Your feedback will help build a clearer picture and support practical recommendations for future action. We have commissioned engagement specialists Urban Symbiotics to run this work on our behalf, from the questionnaire through to the resident workshops.

Why are we asking?

Maidstone Town Centre is home to a wide range of people, communities and organisations. Local evidence shows that some parts of the area face significant pressures - but data only tells part of the story. This project is about hearing directly from residents about the lived experience behind the statistics, so we and our partners can understand where support, services and future activity could make the biggest difference.

The questionnaire and workshop registration have now closed.

Thank you to everyone who took part. The resident questionnaire - which included the chance to register interest in our workshops and enter a prize draw for £100 worth of Maidstone prizes - closed on 19 July 2026.

Three in-person resident workshops will now take place at an accessible town centre venue, where participants will explore what the wider community has shared, discuss the issues that matter most, and develop practical recommendations for improving life in the area. Participants are paid for their time, with support available for travel, childcare and access needs.

What will happen with my feedback?

Your responses will be processed by Urban Symbiotics. This feedback helps us and local partners understand what matters most to residents, where change is needed, and where practical action will make the biggest difference. These insights will directly shape our upcoming workshops. Once the engagement process is complete, the final findings and recommendations will be shared publicly.
