What's it like to live in Maidstone Town Centre?

We want to better understand what it's like to live in and around Maidstone Town Centre - what residents value, what makes everyday life harder, what support is needed, and what could make it a fairer, stronger and more inclusive place.

Your feedback will help build a clearer picture and support practical recommendations for future action. We have commissioned engagement specialists Urban Symbiotics to run this work on our behalf, from the questionnaire through to the resident workshops.

Why are we asking?

Maidstone Town Centre is home to a wide range of people, communities and organisations. Local evidence shows that some parts of the area face significant pressures - but data only tells part of the story. This project is about hearing directly from residents about the lived experience behind the statistics, so we and our partners can understand where support, services and future activity could make the biggest difference.

How can I take part?

1. Complete the questionnaire

Share your day-to-day experience of the town centre in just a few minutes. There are no right or wrong answers, and everyone who completes it can enter a prize draw to win £100 worth of Maidstone prizes.

2. Join our resident workshops

We are also looking for residents to take part in three in-person workshops at an accessible town centre venue. Together, participants will explore what the wider community has shared, discuss the issues that matter most, and develop practical recommendations for improving life in the area.

  • Participants will be paid for their time, with support available for travel, childcare, and access needs.
  • Anyone living in or around Maidstone Town Centre can take part - check the boundary below using the map.
  • Register your interest at the end of the questionnaire

Registering does not guarantee a place, but everyone who completes the questionnaire will have their views included.

3. Add to the map or leave a comment

Use our interactive map below to drop a pin on places you value, areas that feel unsafe or neglected, or spots you want to see changed. You can add a short comment, upload a photo, or use the comments box to share your 5-year vision for Maidstone Town Centre.

What will happen with my feedback?

Your responses - including mapping suggestions and general comments - will be processed by Urban Symbiotics. This feedback helps us and local partners understand what matters most to residents, where change is needed, and where practical action will make the biggest difference. These insights will directly shape our upcoming workshops. Once the engagement process is complete, the final findings and recommendations will be shared publicly.

Consultation closes 19 July 2026
