Why are we consulting
We are seeking input from key stakeholders including local businesses to identify taxi usage, issues and compliments.
LVSA have been appointed by Maidstone Council taxi licensing section to review levels of demand for private hire vehicles in the area served by the Council.
As part of the study, (following the DfT Best Practice Guidance on taxi licensing) LVSA are undertaking consultation with a range of stakeholders, including members of the trade, members of the public, Council departments, political representatives, rail and bus station operators, hospitals, licensed premises, police, chamber of commerce and tourism and elderly representatives, user group representatives and locality representatives.
If you are a Maidstone based business, charity or organisation we would be grateful for any comments and views you may have on private Hire and Hackney Carriages within the Maidstone Council area.
The results of this survey will be considered alongside other research on demand for taxis in Maidstone and presented to Licensing in November. The committee will consider if there is a need to adjust the number of hackney carriage licenses.
