Kent has become a lorry car park

Living in a rural area near the M20 and operation brock had become a travelling nightmare. Trying to drive to the next village which normally takes a couple of minutes can now be one impossible due to the amount of cars now travelling along the back roads trying to circumnavigate the holds up on the A20, because the M20 is used as a lorry car par. Why on earth are lorries allowed to enter kent if their exit out is blocked! Kent seems to be getting the ‘bum deal’ on pretty much everything lately. Gone has the title ‘garden of England’. Can’t wait for the industrial site to open at junction 8 of the M20, life will get a whole lot worse, especially if your trying to drive around for essentials.

Although I have found it possible to avoid the M20 in most cases, my concern is specifically for the environment and health and Well-being of the people most affe cted. The use of greenfield sites as Lorry parks is insane, given the current environmental climate and proves that an oven-ready Brexit was not only hyperbole, but also that planning and forethought for the consequences non-existent. The Independent reported 27 acres of greenfield space converted to Lorry parks. Add to that the huge number of new houses, many also on greenfield sites, the climate crisis/crises driven by lack of trees, water shortages due to increased temperatures and demand on an already compromised supply and disaster in not very far off. As many have alresady sent, Kent is becoming the 'Garden of England' in name only. For those who have the power to make these crucial decisions, this is not the time for short term planning and political expediency.
