Negative impact

I live in a village that connects to the A20. As soon as the M20 gets restrictions, I may as well forget about driving anywhere. My normal 15 to 20 minute drive is turned into a 40 to 90 minute drive due to the shear volume of traffic attempting to dodge the restrictions. My birthday party was also ruined this year as people were stuck in traffic for up to 3 hours trying to attend and then gave up and went home. The impact on local businesses is massive and I have lost clients due to concerns on travel to my office, or me being able to get to them. Not mention the impact on emergency services trying to do their duty and get through. All in all it is an absolute disgrace that this happens as frequently as it does, there has got to be other ways to resolve this. Then, when it gets so bad that I get the train, the trains get cancelled and the bus service is now so poor that hardly any busses run that work to people's schedule. What has become of our once decent road and travel network. You should hang your heads in shame.
