Whilst I have completed the survey, I do not believe the questions help to provide the solutions that will help the region in the future but more of justification of where monies are wanting to be spent.
From a personal point of view we suffer in our road because it is often used as a car park to drop children off at school which in turn stops the refuse collection from getting down the road and emptying the bins. My suggestion would be to look at undertaking waste collection during the overnight period which in turn would avoid the above issues but would also avoid the congestion that waste trucks cause during rush hour traffic times and would also make their jobs that much easier and quicker to undertake. This in turn would improve their productivity and provide major cost savings at the same time as reducing congestion on the roads which has become a major problem in and around the Loose and Maidstone areas.
Another concern is the introduction of the traffic islands along the Coxheath Road. As well as creating major traffic flow problems they are also very dangerous on the basis that vehicles having to go around them create blind spots where you are unable to see cars coming directly at you once the car in front pulls back into the correct lane?

Litter and refuse collection are aspects that need improvement. Refuse and garden waste is often left in a trail in the road after bins are emptied. Litter from children especially after being let out of school is bad. Older children dominating young childrens playgrounds, leaving litter, broken bottles and wrecking the equipment. There are not enough youth venues for youngsters to meet just to be together.

Why not ask about not being able to get a doctors appointment or dentist???

I believe the Park & Ride scheme should be reintroduced to help reduce the amount of traffic entering the town centre, thus reducing the pollution levels. Getting rid of the scheme was a big mistake. More variety of shops are needed in the town Center to bring revenue from consumers into he Borough, by reducing business rates. Until a RINGROAD is built to reduce congestion in and around the town, stop building housing estates, with no infrastructure in place

Maidstone is a dying town with confused architecture and totally useless access to the town centre without paying loadsamoney for parking...Hence it is full of Old people and single mothers, while everyone else uses out of town centres that have free parking and can be accessed in less time even when twenty miles away.
The TRAFFIC lights were originally designed in the 1950's and appear to be still in the same mode. Even when there is less on the road, the queus at the traffic lights are ridiculous. Far from ensuring vehicles can get IN and OUT of the town, they create MASSIVE problems, cause fuel to be used unwisely, and then he Council whines about pollution and 'Net-Zero'. If someone solved the problems instead of keep creating new ones (like building box-houses to the SOUTH of the Town where there is absolutely zero employment opportunities) and all traffic then heads NORTH in the morning and SOUTH in the evening... A planning department would be useful, as the total mismatch of everything seems synonymous with the last PM that has been ejected.
Finally, the Estate roads are no more than tracks of the 1600's that damage our vehicles further. and if there is a 'Grounds' department in the town, WHY are all the road-signs invisible due to excessive foliage? If we cannot see them, how do you expect anyone to give them consideration. If they are only visible when you are less than ten meters from them, they are a Safety hazard, and if motorists having accidents cited them as a cause...
Anyway, they make the town look like a Manure heap when entering, so do not give a good impression.
What about a LOCAL radio station? Not one that is piggy-backed off a national?
This town needs an enema, and a damn good shake up in the council chambers. Rid of Yes men, and in with people who CAN...
or do what I am... Look elsewhere.

Nothing about the ridiculous building and congestion problems in our local area around hermitage lane we need help

I completed the survey, but was disappointed there was no mention of Maidstone’s planning strategy, the increase in crime, along with traffic and road issues.

Questionnaire does not address some of the fundamental issues plaguing Maidstone namely the gyratory system, lack of southern relief road (especially with number of new houses being buit in Parkwood area).

There is also a lack of joined up planning and real thought about what buildings etc should look like in town to give a cohesive look.

A brilliant idea. It needs publicity though. Could it be featured on local BBC and Meridian as well as the Kent messenger and KMFM and BBC Radio Kent?

I would have liked an opportunity to discuss the parking issues and litter being left in and around the area

A decent survey thank you, and I liked the "big questions" idea in the tab above. For the avoidance of doubt, the main things I'd like to see changed about Maidstone are cheaper car parks (to encourage footfall) and fewer empty shop units (also to encourage footfall/revenue for public services!)
